Activities: Training and basic use of software
Technical information: INSIGHT hardware, ChiroTouch software
Reflection: My first few days with Whole Family Chiropractic have been less stressful than I imagined. My supervisor set me up with some training videos to learn HIPAA regulations and how to handle certain situations regarding patient confidentiality issues. The videos were long and boring, but I did learn a lot about how important Government regulation are regarding how medical care providers treat patients.
I took a lot of notes on how to perform general practices too for the hardware/software I'll eventually get hands on experience with. I got about five pages of a notepad full with details of what tech I'll be working with and what all of it does.
Topic: The chiropractic office I work for will treat/diagnose patients that come in with a wide range of injuries and disorders. These can range from back pain, to acid re-flux, ear infections, or if they were in auto accidents. I will be learning how to perform a posture analysis on these patients. This process involves taking several pictures and comparing them to a "perfect mold" of what posture should look like. With this, doctors can be able to detect why certain problems may be arising in a patient. I work with the main technician for these tests.
